Russ Hewitt “Bajo el Sol” (Saulito) from the album ‘Bajo el Sol’

The title track that started it all, “Bajo el Sol”, made the finals in the International Songwriting Competition.  The album ‘Bajo el Sol’ made the ballot in five categories for the 52nd Grammy Awards and enjoyed ten-week stay at #1 on Music Choice.

The all-star backing band features percussionist Raphael Padilla (Miami Sound Machine, Chris Isaak), drummer Walfredo Reyes Jr. (Santana, Steve Winwood, Chicago), bass player Bob Parr (Cher, Barry White) and guitarist Alfredo Caceres (Gipsy Kings All-Stars.)

The recording was mastered by Chris Bellman who has worked with Van Halen, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and Elton John.
